Samsung Galaxy S5
The wait for this new version of the much-loved Galaxy S, the S5 is over!. People were gearing up to swap the Galaxy S in for the newest version of Samsung’s premium smartphone, and you should too if you haven’t done so. Though it has definitely been refreshed, both in design and in software and features, those who are waiting on this new phone will be glad to see that it still carries the typical Samsung characteristics.
Software
Running the newest version of Android (4.4 KitKat), the Galaxy S5 is still using the TouchWiz UI skin. It has, however, been mellowed out a little, in order to make it more user friendly and less clunky on the processor. The biggest surprise with this phone has been, however, how little other software the phone is sporting. Most Samsung phones, especially the Galaxy series, have come with a number of special, Galaxy-only pieces of software. Many users have found that these programs drag down the phone’s performance, and will be glad to see that they are removed from this newest version.
What the S5 does have, however, is a few helpful programs, like a new fingerprint scanner and heart rate monitor, to code your phone’s access to your particular fingerprint and even track your heartbeat during exercise.
Screen and Shell
Though the screen itself has not been upgraded from the predecessor (still a 1080p AMOLED screen), the size is larger, expanding to 5.1 inches. Though it is sporting basically the same screen as the GS4, the viewing and gaming experience is still crisp and clear.
The Galaxy S5 has a new swappable back plate and an improved battery, ranging up to 2,800mAh, for all-day use. The shell has also been upgraded to be more water and dust resistant, making it the most durable Galaxy yet. The shell itself is plastic, but it has a special metallic coating, with dimpled design that resists buildup of fingerprints and other smears and smudges. The special polycarbonate used to make the shell of the S5 is a blend of plastic and glass fibers, which makes it both resistant to breaking and to scratches.
The camera is a new and improved 16 megapixel, with improved photo-capture technology that makes it easier to take great pictures. The 2.0 megapixel camera on the front makes for improved selfie shots. Overall, the concept behind the improvements made to the Galaxy make it look and feel more modern and more user friendly.
Speed
The quad-core Snapdragon 800 provides plenty of speed that is augmented by the 3GB of RAM. This makes the Galaxy Note 3 one of the fastest in its class on the market today. The speed is really augmented by the unique design of the interface which, along with the S Pen, allows for quick access to the many features and apps that this camera has available. In essence, Samsung has managed to integrate the hardware, software and interface into a smooth, clean design that actually helps speed up access to the features inside.

There are certainly numerous highlights to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 smartphone, but arguably the best is the complete package of features that center on the impressive size of the display screen.
